NPT Issue #6: A Constellation of Conversations - Why We Need ActivityPub Protocol

Image
Hello to My Readers 👋🏽 I know it's been a long wait but I want to thank you all once again for your patience. I can tell you the delay for this issue was due to the complexity and size of the topics I intend to address in the next few issues. I want to do them justice so it requires deeper research than usual. Recap of Previous Issue ⬅️📰 In the previous issue of NPT, I gave my take on GenAI chatbots. It was a more practical issue of NPT but I hope it helped because it helped me reflect on GenAI chatbots and I use them for and what they are good at so far in my opinion. Foreword 🗞️ In this issue of NPT, I will be talking about the ActivityPub Protocol created by the Web3 consortium. It's a protocol and open standard for decentralized social networking. Hence, the aptly named title of this issue of NPT 😁. Why should social networks be connected and interlinked? Find out below as I conduct a sort of cost-benefit analysis comparing some pros and cons as well as dropping some i...

NPT Issue #5: My Take on Generative AI Chatbots

Image
Hello to My Readers 👋🏽 I'm back again with another issue of NPT! I hope you've been learning from me and viewing things from a new perspective. I would love to learn from you too and hear what you have to say in the comments. Whether you are a familiar face or a new reader, I will be equally happy to engage with your contributions to the newsletter. Please don't be shy and do be rest assured that there is no judgement, embarrassment or stigma here. It is a safe and open space with everyone working towards the betterment of society by making it so that technology can be a net positive for society. Recap of Previous Issue ⬅️📰 In the previous issue of NPT, I shared my initial opinion of AI as a whole and backed my opinions with experiences and stories to illustrate my points. It was a more personal issue of the newsletter but I felt it was a welcome change. Something to give insight into the person writing each issue of the newsletter. Foreword 🗞️ I will be talking about...

NPT Issue #4: My Initial Opinion on Artificial Intelligence

Image
Hello to My Readers 👋🏽 Thank you all for being so patient with me. Rest assured I have some interesting things to share with you in this issue. I appreciate your attentiveness and engagement with my writing. Recap of Previous Issue ⬅️📰 In the previous issue of NPT, I shared a YouTube video I came across while I was on X and another which linked from it while I watched the former on YouTube. I can see it didn't hit home as much as my other newsletter issues but I felt it was important to share nonetheless. The world requires more empathy and I can see significant progress being made on that front. The difficult discussions are being had and decisions are being made which are bringing the current ways of doing things into question, as they should. This is a time for flexibility, versatility, open-mindedness and possibility. It's only through humility and being willing to hear each other out that we can explore these fruitful opportunities we present each other and possibilitie...

NPT Issue #3: Genius & Easily Raising Your IQ by Jeffery Ford, A YouTube Video Summary

Image
I came across Jeffrey's YouTube (YT) video on X while scrolling X before I started doing some chores. I played his video in the background when I started washing the dishes and listened to it all the way through. His tips actually seem tangible and accessible. They are quite solid and I wanted to share them for that reason. Someone in the comment section of his YouTube Video was kind enough to include a summary of the video which does it justice. The YT user's handle is @slushyslushy7777. I want to give credit where credit is due as I am just copy-pasting their summary here and that's the blog post. Watching the video is up to you. I say it's well worth the watch if even just for Jeffery's personality and refreshing communication style. It feels so naturally, like I'm having a conversation with him but I'm not saying anything. As if I'm listening to him. X Link:   https://x.com/theJayAlto/status/1882868980525957435 YouTube Link:   https://www.youtube.com...

NPT Issue #2: Different Types of Innovation

Image
Hello to My Readers 👋🏽 Greetings readers 👋🏽! It's wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces who subscribed. Thank you for reading along to my writing and I hope you are finding it informative, insightful, engaging, helpful and enlightening. I'll add a bit of fun and playfulness into the mix so you know it's me 😁. Recap of Previous Issue ⬅️📰 In the previous issue of the Net Positive Tech newsletter (NPT Issue #1), I shared some ways in which innovation can be implemented at zero financial cost. Foreword for Current Issue 🗞️ In this issue, I am sharing different types of innovation that I have come across or identified so far. The ways in which one can be driven to innovate that I shared in the previous issue can naturally lead into any of the types of innovation I am sharing in this issue. There is no need to pigeon-hole yourself into any one of these types as they are all cards in your deck and you can play them at any point in time. The strategy you choose is ...

NPT Issue #1: Idea Is Needed

Image
There is a Nigerian saying my Mom always mentions that goes "Idea is Needed". It means society needs ideas - Innovation - to function and progress. I am sharing somethings that the world needs to know and do because it's getting on everyone's nerves a little bit. There is great progress but there are a few unnecessary problems arising in spite of technology being very capable to address them. A better approach to implementation or execution would be very beneficial for the world at large. Let's do it together. Below are some ways in which innovation can be implemented at zero financial cost. I would like to break the myth and common belief that innovation must cost money or belongs only to companies which can afford it. Innovation belongs to everybody and nobody. Anyone can innovate anything. It can be big or small or simple or complex. There are no rules.  As an individual, it is common knowledge that ideas come most often in solitude or when on a "break...
